We've already established that Kaymon does not like to do things the usual way...
their song really sticks with that theme. (not sappy or too lovey-dovey)
the song? A favorite of both Katie and Raymon...
"I know where I'm going
and I know who's going with me
I know who I love
but the Lord knows who I'll marry..."

Announcements
When it comes to wedding announcements, Kaymon believes that they are OVERRATED. Why are they overrated:
1. People send out announcements with 40 pictures of themselves. Do they really love THEMSELVES that much? Obviously. Does anyone care about them that much? Obviously not.
2. It costs money. Big problem.
3. Time and effort (better spent planning a cool honeymoon)
So, we have already come to a simple conclusion. When Jen gets married, we are going to send a post-it note with a simple message from Katie and I. It will be perfect, really. That way we will still get presents, yet save on postage, etc.
P.S. Katie already had her bridal taken. She is so efficient.

"reception" ideas
Well folks... it's been about a month since Katie and Raymon became Kaymon... and in that time they've (we've) had some time to toss around some wedding/future life plans. We are excited to share all of these with the blogging world, but they may take some time in coming, so please be patient.
The first thing we would like to talk about is our reception.
Initially we were trying to think of a way to make money on the reception... but we felt that was maybe a wee bit tacky.
Raymon and I are both philanthropists and humanitarians at heart. As such, we decided we'd like our "reception" to be both philanthropistic and humanitarian. It is important to mention that the term "reception" is used loosely here... this is not a typical reception as one would normally think of a "reception." Obviously (see post below) we don't believe in receptions, but we do believe that a marriage should be celebrated.
you ask yourself:
What's the perfect solution to our non-reception-humanitarian-and-philanthropistic-celebration-of-the-wedding????????
We're having a hunger banquet!!
and YOU are invited!!!!
{details and explanations to come later}
how it all began
well... this isn't the beginning of the beginning, but I do feel it's a good place to start.
Draper Temple Dedication.
General talk in the car: weddings
Katie: "I don't want a reception"
Raymon {in his head}: attention turns immediately to Katie...he's never heard a girl say such a thing. He likes it. So practical. And coming from Katie too... {unexpected}
Katie:..."I'd rather just take the money and use it for a house"
Raymon: Me too! The parentals say they'll just give me the $$... we don't like receptions.
Katie: "They're such a waste of money... and all you accomplish is feeding the whole neighborhood."
at this point it becomes difficult to remember who said what because Katie and Raymon were thinking as one. Well on their way to becoming Kaymon.
K&R: such a waste of money
K&R: the parentals say they'll give me the cash
K&R: I'd rather have a down payment on a house
K&R: If people are going to give you a present... they'll do it whether or not you have a reception.
K&R: I'd love to have the money to go on an awesome honeymoon.
several times throughout the drive home Katie "accidentally" got her hand "caught" on Raymon's pocket.... she does love a deep pocket.;)
